Therapy for Extreme Anxiety & Complex PTSD
For adults whose trauma didn't come from one event — it built up over time.
When It's Not Just One Thing
Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) often comes from prolonged or repeated trauma — a difficult childhood, an unsafe relationship, years of instability. It can look like anxiety that never fully turns off, a nervous system stuck in high alert, or a sense that something is wrong even when nothing obviously is.
If you've been told you're "just anxious" but it's felt like more than that for a long time, this is likely why.
Signs This Might Be You
-
You feel on edge even when nothing is technically wrong
-
Small setbacks hit way harder than they "should"
-
You're exhausted from being switched on all the time
-
You've tried managing it on willpower alone, and it hasn't held
Befriending the Part of You That's Always on Alert
Your anxiety isn't the enemy — it's a part of you that took on a job a long time ago and never got the memo that it could stop. Through IFS, we won't fight that part or try to silence it. We'll get curious about it instead: what is it so afraid will happen if it lets its guard down? What has it been protecting you from?
Anxiety usually isn't random. It's often carrying information — about what once was genuinely unsafe, about what still matters to you, about what you need. My job is to help you learn to listen to that part instead of just enduring it, so you can find the wisdom underneath the alarm instead of only the noise of it.
